Important Metal-mechanical company is seeking a dedicated and experienced EHS Coordinator with a strong background in manufacturing and foundry operations. The EHS Coordinator will be responsible for implementing and maintaining health, safety, and environmental programs to ensure regulatory compliance and promote a safe working environment. This role will play a key part in minimizing risk and enhancing safety culture across all levels of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs that comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA and EPA standards.
- Conduct risk assessments, audits, and safety inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures.
- Lead incident investigations, including root cause analysis, corrective action implementation, and follow-up to prevent recurrence.
- Coordinate and deliver EHS training for employees, focusing on safety practices, equipment handling, emergency response, and hazardous materials.
- Manage environmental compliance related to air quality, waste management, and hazardous substances, ensuring all permits and reports are filed timely.
- Collaborate with the manufacturing and foundry teams to design and implement safety measures and controls, particularly in areas of high risk (e.g., high temperatures, molten metal handling, heavy equipment).
- Monitor and analyze EHS performance metrics, reporting results and recommending improvements to senior management.
- Maintain and improve emergency response plans, conducting drills and ensuring equipment is operational.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety culture and environmental sustainability efforts.
- Liaise with external regulatory agencies, auditors, and contractors regarding EHS matters.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date EHS documentation, including records of incidents, training, audits, and safety data sheets (SDS).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience as an EHS Coordinator or similar role in manufacturing and foundry environments.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations, environmental laws, and safety standards specific to manufacturing and foundries.
- Certification in safety management (e.g., CSP, CIH, or equivalent) is preferred.
- Experience conducting safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to train and engage employees at all levels.
- Proficiency with EHS software and Microsoft Office Suite.
