Senior Engineer, Launch – TRN2
Quoting of new products and accessing feasibility of potential new products and processes in our Molding and Metal Stamping Manufacturing plants. Follow through of quoting process through business award. Liaison engineer between Manufacturing plants and Program Managers from our corporate offices. Coordinate APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) activities and lead new business startups at the manufacturing plant through PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) and SOP (Start of Production). Support to all facilities of the Components Division, as is required.
Responsibilities/ Skills.
- Coordinate test request and samples for new launches, products, and process validations to achieve the PPAP release from the customer in time.
- Responsible to assure the success of the activities for the launches, also is responsible to make sure the capacity installed in coordination with industrial engineering is enough before accepting a new product to be launch or request additional machines or equipment in case of capacity issues to receive new business.
- Coordinate documentation of new products, new programs and production parts such as: flow charts, bill of materials, PFMEA and other documents related with core tools for the launches through the Industrial Engineering Dept of the Manufacturing plant.
- Coordinate the multidisciplinary team to develop PDF (Packaging detail form), SBR's (Sample build request) for the customers, work orders for test lab for dimensional and test reports and coordinate with process engineers the set-up books development for new products.
- Work with Tool Vendors (Molds and dies) in defining action plans and follow up activities during building of the tools and dies, validation, transportation and test to release the new products.
- Interact with suppliers to develop device design and equipment for the integration of the new products into production.
- Daily support of Launch team initiatives to work closely with program manager's team and give support for new launches at each plant.
- Follow up and promote the guidelines of EHS according with the company's standard.
- Comply with PKC's Hygiene, Safety, Environment, Quality and Material Management policies
- Comply with the environmental, safety and health requirements set forth in the legislation and regulations related to our activities and products, as well as those EHS requirements established by the community, our clients and others to which we are subscribed.
Profile.
- Bachelor's in Industrial Engineering or similar
- 3 to 5 years' experience in the automotive industry, Injection of plastic process, Design and new launches.
- Knowledge of core tools and APQP.
- Knowledge of IATF 16949:2016 norm.
- SPC Knowledge.
- Risk Analysis ISO31000
- SCR Specific Customer Request management.
- English 90%
Skills/ Knowledge requirements:
- New launches, APQP, RFQ, Planning and Project management.
- Injection of process plastic.
- Knowledge AIAG and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) is required.
