CAPLUGS is the Leader in Plastic Molding Since 1948.
SUMMARY: Responsible for developing custom engineered solutions with ownership from conception through delivery. Provide technical support to customers, reps, and marketing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist in driving revenue and profitability through the development of custom applications; Maintain the current business through development of strong relationships with engineering and purchasing; Own each project through all phases of quoting, approval, tooling, prototyping and final part delivery; collaborate effectively with the rep, design engineering, manufacturing, quality, and marketing, and continually look for ways to improve the quality, accuracy, and speed of the design and tooling process.
· Travel throughout the region (+50%) to support growth.
· Determine customer order requirements (standard or custom) from description, drawings, fittings, industry/military standards, etc.
· Work with estimator to determine costs and issue formal quotation to customer based on engineering estimate and sales analysis.
· Coordinate activity with the Customer Satisfaction Coordinator and Quality Control for parts that are shipped to the customer which are rejected.
· Issue and draw secondary operations job sheets.
· Assign and coordinate new part numbers, and new tooling for custom parts.
· Assist in development and technical requirements of new products or product change.
· Evaluate and process customer generated engineering/drawing changes.
· Train new outside sales representatives as needed.
· Responsible for complying with the company's Environmental Policy Manual, applicable work instructions and reporting any environmental
nonconformance and / or potential nonconformance to supervision or management.
· And other duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree (B. A. /B. S.) from four-year college or university; or A. A. S. degree and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situation where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Any additional training is beneficial.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Good interpersonal, organizational and communication skills. Basic knowledge of MS Word and Excel. Blueprint reading required.
