Senior Staff Engineer

Our client is a multi-tenant, cloud-based platform designed to streamline administration, communication, and member engagement for churches of all sizes Our initial technology stack is live, and we're poised to expand features, improve reliability, and optimize performance. We need an experienced engineer to take ownership and drive the next phase of development.

Role Overview

You will lead the architecture, development, and operations of our core systems. You will collaborate with the founding team and stakeholders to translate requirements into robust, secure, and maintainable solutions This role requires hands-on coding, infrastructure management, and mentorship of internal stakeholders to ensure knowledge transfer.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, with increasing levels of responsibility.
• Expert in JavaScript/TypeScript (Node js) and Python for backend development.
• Experience making decisions.
• Experience developing a product to get it ready to go to market.
• Proven track record customizing and operating Directus in production.
• Deep experience building and maintaining automation workflows using n8n or similar systems (e.g, Zapier, Workato).
• Strong background with Prefect, Airflow, or similar orchestration frameworks.
• Expertise in Postgres: schema design, performance tuning, replication, and HA setups.
• Hands-on experience designing and operating GCP environments at scale Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes (GKE), and serverless deployments.
• Solid understanding of infrastructure-as-code principles and Terraform.
• Experience implementing CI/CD, testing frameworks, and release management Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Background in agent-driven or AI/ML-based system design.
• Excellent English writing skills.
