Descripción
Purpose of Job: We are currently seeking talented Consumer Lending Underwriter.
Responsible for rendering decisions on loan applications based on established criteria and determine risk associated with borrower based on profile and parameters.
Communicate decisions that most effectively mitigate credit risks, including data integrity and validity of information submitted.
Applies understanding of established guidelines and all other regulatory requirements when evaluating loan attributes while utilizing prudent underwriting judgment and experience.
Responsibilities: Works under moderate supervision; acquires and applies maturing knowledge of the business, its products, and processes.
Evaluate and verify applications – determining whether or not borrower will be able to repay the loan.
Verify income and employment information, review credit history and calculate the value of the borrower's collateral and assets Once the application has been evaluated and the degree of risk has been assessed, document the reasons for approval or denial of the loan and add the documentation to the loan file.
Preferred: Maintains knowledge of secondary market activity, and business/industry practices as they impact underwriting quality and origination activity.
Skills Required: Must have excellent writing and comprehension skills. Must have excellent decision-making skills that are backed by relevant details and research.
Preferable to have good analytical and audit skills.
Preferable to have knowledge pertaining to the regulations governing mortgage lending.
Preferable to have logical reasoning skills Preferable to handle stress and meet deadlines. Preferable to pay close attention to detail.
Prior experience in a Chat based process is preferable but not mandatory Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
