The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for leading acquisition strategies and supplier management for indirect materials, raw materials, and finished products, ensuring the company meets its objectives for quality, cost efficiency, and timely delivery. This role will report to a global procurement team, collaborating continuously with internal stakeholders and international suppliers in the chemical industry. The ideal candidate should possess advanced negotiation and English communication skills, along with multinational experience, and be able to adapt quickly to the demands of a dynamic, global work environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sourcing Strategy Development: Define and execute sourcing strategies for raw materials, finished goods, and indirect services, optimizing costs and ensuring quality and sustainability within the supply chain.
Strategic Supplier Management: Evaluate, select, and negotiate contracts with both domestic and international suppliers, fostering long-term trust-based relationships.
Cost Analysis and Procurement Efficiency: Conduct detailed cost analyses, assessing financial impact, and proposing solutions to reduce total acquisition costs without compromising quality.
KPI Compliance and Continuous Improvement: Track and meet key performance indicators, such as delivery timelines, product quality, and cost optimization, while driving continuous improvement in procurement processes.
Support and Reporting to Global Team: Prepare regular reports on results and forecasts for the corporate procurement team and participate in global sourcing projects.
Blender and Mixing Management: Oversee and coordinate with specialized suppliers to ensure technical compliance in blending processes and other critical procedures.
Adaptation to Regulatory and Market Changes: Stay updated on market changes and relevant regulations, adjusting procurement strategies to ensure company compliance and competitiveness.
REQUIERED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
Languages: Advanced Spanish and English (bilingual).
Advanced Negotiation Skills: Experience in high-value strategic negotiations with international suppliers.
Cross-Cultural Communication: Ability to collaborate effectively within multicultural teams and report results in English.
Analytical Skills: Proficiency in performing detailed financial and cost analysis to make data-driven decisions.
Project Management: Strong organization and planning skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Adaptability and Proactiveness: Competence to adapt to market changes and company strategies proactively.
Technical Knowledge in Blending Processes: Experience managing and coordinating blending and other related processes in the chemical industry.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Education: Bachelor's degree on Industrial Engineering, Chemistry, Business Administration, or related fields.
Experience: At least 5 to 7 years in strategic purchasing within the chemical industry, preferably in multinational companies.
ERP Proficiency: Familiarity with Exel and ERP systems for procurement and inventory management.
Certifications (preferred not limited): CPSM, CPIM, or certifications in Supply Chain Management.
