We are looking for a Project Engineer to join our team and lead the development, launch, and implementation of new projects and engineering changes. The ideal candidate has experience in automotive quality standards (IATF 16949, VDA 6.3), is organized, detail-oriented, and capable of coordinating cross-functional activities to meet customer and internal requirements.

Position objective:

Responsible for issuing quality documentation related to the PPAP, subject to the review and approval of the Quality Manager. Likewise, the Quality Manager provides support to the Engineering and Sales departments during the APQP process, engineering changes, and review and approval of supplier PPAPs, under the supervision of the Quality Manager and/or Engineering according to the responsibility matrix.

Requirements: 

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Mechatronics or related).
• Previous experience: quality engineer, APQP engineer, metrologyst, PPAP engineer.
• Customer Information Portals
• Minimum 3 years of experience in the automotive or manufacturing sector.
• Knowledge of IATF 16949, PPAP, Core Tools (FMEA & VDA, APQP, SPC, MSA, PPAP), and VDA 6.3.
• Experience with PPAP, GD&T, and measurement systems
• Experience in plastic injection molding is a plus.
• Advanced English (oral and written communication with customers and corporate).
• Proficiency in MS Office, ERP/MRP systems (IQMS desirable).
• Problem-solving mindset, organized, with strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsabilities:

• Coordinate the development and implementation of new projects or engineering changes within the plant.
• Participate in the preparation and revision of PFMEA, Control Plans, Process Flow Diagrams, and Work Instructions.
• Conduct technical and manufacturing feasibility assessments for new products or proposed changes.
• Coordinate the validation and release of molds, equipment, or production cells in collaboration with Maintenance, Quality, and Production.
• Support internal and external audits (IATF 16949, VDA 6.3, customer-specific) related to project deliverables.
• Ensure full compliance of projects with customer requirements and the Quality Management System (QMS).
• Identify, assess, and document risks and opportunities related to projects using the risk matrix.
• Monitor project progress through KPIs, Gantt charts, and validation milestone tracking.
• Attend and contribute to project follow-up meetings, Management Review sessions, and internal quality reviews.
• Coordinate with cross-functional departments (Quality, Maintenance, Logistics, Production) to secure all project resources.
• Assist in implementing corrective actions related to launches, customer requests, or audit findings.
• Validate and update technical documentation following design or process modifications.
• Request and evaluate functional, visual, and dimensional testing aligned with customer and regulatory standards.
• Verify implementation of Customer Specific Requirements (CSR) during each project phase.
• Ensure all project files and documentation are complete, controlled, and properly archived.
• Request and interpret metrology results from internal or external labs and integrate them into PPAP packages.
• Support gauge R&R, capability studies (CP/CPK), and customer-specific measurement system validations.
