Job Overview
At Schenker International S.A. de C.V. we are looking for a SD-WAN Network Engineer to be part of our IT team, for our office in Mexico City, who will be responsible for providing 2nd and 3rd line support and operations of the internal data communications systems, including LANs, WLANs and WANs and associated solutions. The tasks includes, but are not limited to: implementing and configuring network systems, supporting and troubleshooting network problems and coordinating with vendors.
What will be your challenges?
- Responsibility for the professional operations of all delivered services in line with SLA's and stakeholder requirements.
- Execute work assignments.
- Raise escalations and suggestions to circumvent potential issues and roadblocks, proactively and reactively.
- Identify, research, and resolve 2nd & 3rd level Technical Support problems related to the SD-WAN, Firewalls, and other related Network components.
- Work together with 3rd party Service Provider and Vendors on Incidents and Requests.
- Follow up on Problem tickets and creating RCAs as well as identifying improvements and preventing mitigations and implementing any agreed follow up activities.
- Identify and close Single Point of Failures.
- Automate tasks and monitor their effectiveness.
- Create, oversee and test security measures (e.g. access authentication and disaster recovery).
- Test and Implementation of new Hardware and Software versions.
- Work closely with Infrastructure Architecture for new solutions.
- Support central / regional / local Projects and Demands with all Network related topics.
- Execute project tasks in IT infrastructure projects and responsibility to provide project.
- Continuously optimize the network regarding performance, reliability, security and cost.
- Development and implementation of technical guidelines and standards.
- Assurance of IT-based service quality in accordance with agreed SLA's/OLA's.
- Ensure system integrity and security through necessary measures, for example log analysis and patch management.
- Security management for the service components.
- Create documentation, instructions and conduct training to other team members and to our 1st line support.

What you need to succeed?
- Degree in related technical/business areas or equivalent work experience.
- 4-6 years of relevant IT experience in Network technology related IT Infrastructure services.
- Experience in scripting API's (e.g. Terraform and Python), knowledge in NetOps / DevOps and CI/CD Pipeline.
- Knowledge in operating Overlays of SD-WAN, including Orchestration and Routing in an enterprise environment.
- Deep knowledge of WAN Connectivity (Underlay), incl. Internet, MPLS, 4G / 5G, Low Earth Orbit Satellite (LEO).
- Experience with Security Infrastructure operation (Fortinet, Palo Alto).
- Experience in operating Cisco LAN/WLAN Infrastructure (Cisco Meraki and Catalyst).
- Experience with technical writing and creation of documentation.
- Experience in the area of ITSM and knowledge of the processes of service management (ITIL).
