Description

• Packaging Engineer supporting all North American manufacturing sites.
• Work with packaging vendors to design & validate returnable and expendable packaging for inbound, outbound & interplant needs.
• Work with Industrial Engineers and Operation Engineers to execute inbound and interplant packaging to work line side for manufacturing assembly operations.
• Review / approve customer proposed packaging for conformance to optimization, part protection, & ergonomics.
• Perform packaging studies / cost analysis, including business case analysis for returnable vs. expendable.
• Coordinate and complete packaging cost estimates for new business pursuit & service products.
• Coordinate with PC&L for freight estimates for business case analysis.
• Obtain Inteva plant approval for inbound and interplant packaging solutions.
• Maintain packaging cost and design documents.
• Support plant with root cause analysis of packaging issues relative product quality.
• Support operations on "plan for every part" submissions.
• Support product development team and their needs for new product launches
• Submit packaging approvals / details via forms & web portals.

Position Requirements

• Bilingual Spanish/English Speaking.
• Proven track record of leadership capabilities to conduct container buyoffs and drive container optimization.
• Works effectively in a team environment.
• Excellent problem solving skills.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, Power Point, and Project.
• Strong degree of self-motivation and self-direction.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a demanding situation.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
• Work experience in automotive industry or industrial/manufacturing engineering.
• Experience in manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Operations experience.
• Experience with AutoCAD

Education Requirement
Bachelors degree in Engineering.
