GateSource HR is partnering with a well-established mining company advancing operations across South America. Our client is seeking a highly experienced and proactive Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Manager to lead the development and execution of all HSE initiatives across their mining operations.

This is a pivotal leadership role that ensures the health and safety of employees, environmental compliance, and the company's alignment with international best practices and local regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and continuously improve site-specific HSE systems, policies, and procedures.
• Provide leadership and strategic direction on all HSE matters across operations.
• Ensure compliance with local environmental and occupational health and safety laws and regulations.
• Conduct regular risk assessments, inspections, and audits to identify areas for improvement.
• Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action implementation.
• Foster a strong safety culture through training, coaching, and engagement at all organizational levels.
• Collaborate closely with operations, HR, legal, and external stakeholders including regulatory bodies and community representatives.
• Report HSE metrics and performance to senior management and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of HSE experience in mining or heavy industry, with at least 5 in a management capacity.
• Strong understanding of South American environmental and labor laws.
• Proven experience in implementing HSE frameworks aligned with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, or similar standards.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English (required).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to work in remote locations and travel to multiple sites.
