Job Description
GateSource HR is partnering with a well-established mining company advancing operations across South America. Our client is seeking a highly experienced and proactive Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Manager to lead the development and execution of all HSE initiatives across their mining operations.
This is a pivotal leadership role that ensures the health and safety of employees, environmental compliance, and the company's alignment with international best practices and local regulations.

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and proactive Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Manager to lead the development and execution of all HSE initiatives across their mining operations.
This is a pivotal leadership role that ensures the health and safety of employees, environmental compliance, and the company's alignment with international best practices and local regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve site-specific HSE systems, policies, and procedures.
- Provide leadership and strategic direction on all HSE matters across operations.
- Ensure compliance with local environmental and occupational health and safety laws and regulations.
- Conduct regular risk assessments, inspections, and audits to identify areas for improvement.
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action implementation.
- Foster a strong safety culture through training, coaching, and engagement at all organizational levels.
- Collaborate closely with operations, HR, legal, and external stakeholders including regulatory bodies and community representatives.
- Report HSE metrics and performance to senior management and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of HSE experience in mining or heavy industry, with at least 5 in a management capacity.
- Strong understanding of South American environmental and labor laws.
- Proven experience in implementing HSE frameworks aligned with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, or similar standards.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English (required).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work in remote locations and travel to multiple sites.
