Arca Continental is the second largest Coca-Cola bottler in Latin America, with presence in 5 countries. We are looking for a Sr Data Scientist willing to take their skills to the next level. In this position you will be responsible for supporting, improving and creating next generation solutions across the organization. As a Data Scientist at our company, you will play a vital role in our success by:

• Designing, delivering, and iterating highly scalable code in close collaboration with the data engineering team. You will adhere to established standards of quality for documentation and coding, ensuring seamless integration with our existing systems.
• Applying statistical and machine learning techniques to solve challenging problems related to forecasting and customer segmentation/classification. Your work will directly contribute to enhancing the value of our products and services.

• Taking trained models and modeling pipelines into production within an agile framework using DevOps and Databricks. Your expertise in deploying sophisticated solutions will help us stay at the forefront of the industry.
• Mentoring and guiding junior Data Scientists on your team, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment that encourages skill development and knowledge sharing.
• Designing experiments, analyzing results, and deriving trustworthy conclusions from them. You will have the opportunity to present your findings to stakeholders, influencing critical business decisions.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field, or a proven track record of projects/courses related to data science for at least 2 years.

• At least 24 months of hands-on experience working with business-centered, applied data science projects, demonstrating your ability to deliver impactful solutions.
• Advanced coding skills in PySpark/Python and SQL for developing production-ready code. Experience in Scala/ScalaSpark is highly desired and will be considered a plus.
• Extraordinary attention to detail and a strong drive to enhance the quality and scalability of your own code and that of your team members.
• Advanced experience in machine learning libraries such as scikit-learn and Spark ML, showcasing your expertise in developing sophisticated algorithms.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the theory behind traditional machine learning algorithms, emphasizing their strengths and weaknesses when applied to various use cases.

• Proficiency in professional written and spoken English, allowing you to effectively communicate complex ideas and results.

While not required, the following qualifications will be highly advantageous:

• Experience in deploying scalable data science solutions to real-world problems and using user feedback to drive continuous improvement.
• Specific experience in sale/demand forecasting within the retail industry, highlighting your expertise in this domain.
• Familiarity with agile project development techniques (e.g., Scrum), enabling you to seamlessly integrate into our fast-paced, collaborative work environment.

• Knowledge of tree-based models and deep learning, expanding your skillset to tackle even more complex challenges.
• A genuine passion for data-driven decision making, motivating you to push the boundaries of what's possible with data analysis and predictive modeling.
