General Purpose of Job
?
The Digital Designer produces creative solutions to address marketing needs. To be successful in this role, you should have in-depth knowledge of graphic design, typography and layout techniques. You should also have experience executing marketing projects from conception to production, including publications, display and ads. Ultimately, you will ensure your work promotes our brand through delivering high quality pieces on tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
· Artistic development of all phases of the publication, including editorial pages and any advertisements as requested by the client
· Create layout comps, roughs and presentation material as requested
· Design and propose creative elements for visual purposes in client media collateral
· Be aware of graphic & advertising trends as they relate to publication design
· Revise content as required through the proofing process, checking for missing elements, re-arranging copy blocks and other elements as needed.
· Provide additional creative support on special projects as needed.
· Attend project meetings and collaborate with cross-functional teams including account management, layout designers and copywriters
· Prepare client proofs for approval
· Collaborate with Account Manager and Sr. Designers to ensure a complete understanding of the client's branding guidelines
· Work efficiently & accurately through high volumes of work, meeting deadlines in a very time-sensitive environment
· Review all job instructions, both written and verbal, & ask any questions necessary to successfully complete the project
· Utilize resources to problem solve challenges on projects
· Perform other responsibilities, as they are developed/defined
Job Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or equivalent
Experience:
· 2-5+ years of experience in graphic design, preferably in a creative environment.
· 2+ years proficiency in MacOS, Adobe Creative Suite and design tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.)
· Experience applying established brand guidelines and toolkits to a range of creative executions.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
· Spoken and written fluency in American English.
· Strong and demonstrated understanding of layout principles, typography, color theory, and branding.
· Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting tight deadlines.
· Creative self-starter with a strong sense of urgency, who loves exploring new and innovative methods and tools, and takes pride in delivering accurate work.
· Experience working on retail, grocery, food or consumer packaged goods brands a plus
· A strong eye for design and page composition and layout
