Sales Engineer Responsibilities
- Identifies current and future business opportunities by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual customers to understand their assembly / application requirements.
- Provides product, service, and equipment technical information by discussing questions and requests with customers/prospects.
- Establishes territory new accounts by identifying potential customers; planning and arranging a sales call schedule.
- Provides quotations by studying blueprints, plans, and related customer documents; consulting with engineers, and other technical personnel.
- Determines improvements by analyzing cost-benefit ratios, proposing changes in equipment, processes, or use of materials or services.
- Gains customer acceptance by explaining or demonstrating potential benefits such as cost reductions and operations improvements.
- Develops customer's staff by providing technical information and training.
- Prepares sales and forecasting reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing opportunities / application trends.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending industry trade shows, educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in industry related societies.
- Contributes to Sales Engineering effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues that must be addressed, providing information and commentary pertinent to deliberations, recommending options and courses of action, implementing directives.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Sales Engineer Requirements
- Degree in Engineering (IMA, IME, Mechatronics, Electric or Mechanical Engineering)
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Administrative skills.
- Excellent planning, organizational and communication skills (written and oral).
- 1 to 3 years work experience in industrial sales.
- English communication 90% (oral and written).
- Time management skills.
- Self-directed.
- Interpersonal and public speaking skills.
- Customer support oriented.
- Multi-project management capability.
- Team work aptitude.
- Ability to travel, USA Visa.
- Based within assigned territory.
