Job Profile Summary
The Business IT Manager contributes to both Business and IT Strategy. Delivers input and advices the Director IT Strategy, Portfolio and Architecture in defining the Nutreco IT strategy and the Project Portfolio.
The Business IT Manager is accountable for implementing the IT Strategy and for the proper functioning of the IT processes, local IT Organization, management of the project portfolio and the correct operation of specific applications within the local organisation. Strongly connects with the Business (vertical line)
The Business IT Manager manages the inventory of IT requirements, deliverance and expectations in the local organisation by close cooperation with the Key users and IT contacts and ensures that the requirements are transferred to the Global IT Services organization. For this end the Business IT Manager has a key role to build a solid connection and relationship between the Opco's, Business Units, , the Nutreco Competence Center and the GITS organization.
Financially the Business IT Manager manages the IT budget for the organisation.
Acts in projects mainly as Project Manager.
Acts mainly on a strategically/ tactical and limited on the operational level (depends on which Business Unit/Opco the Business IT Manager works for).
Might act as local owner of global solutions (for example LUO/Local Unite Owner)
The Business IT Manager reports hierarchically to the Business Unit or Opco Management and functionally into the Corporate IT function. The Business IT Manager has a local, regional or global scope depending on which Business Unit/Opco the Business IT Manager works for.

Job Description:
T Strategy
- The Business IT Manager contributes to IT Strategy (depends per level of Business IT Manager). Delivers specific BU input and advices the Director IT Strategy, Portfolio and Architecture in defining the Nutreco IT strategy and the Project Portfolio.
- Contributes to the definition of the IT structures like organization, application landscape, processes (ITIL and policies)
- Takes the lead in and organizes IT Strategy Progress meeting with BU Management or has update meetings with Opco Management.
Planning and Budget Control
- Accountable of the IT budget of assigned BU/Opco and takes corrective actions when necessary and ensures adequate reporting within Corporate and guidelines, to ensure that the BU delivers its budget and meets KPI objectives
- Provides input for the quarterly 8Q roadmap
IT Requirements
- Defines the IT requirements in the BU, supported by Key Users and IT contacts
- Ensures that the IT requirements of the BU are correctly transferred to and adapted by the Global IT Services organization and/or Nutreco Competence Center and are secured by Service Level Agreement
- Implements Nutreco or BU IT projects, processes (ITIL) and process related policies
- Identifies opportunities for improvement and addresses these to the Process Information Manager (NCC)
IT Management
- Ensures the BU specific applications are managed (Service Level Management)
- Participates as member in the extended BU Management Team IT or Opco MT (if applicable)
Management advice/reports
- Proactively advises management (BU/Opco MT, IT Contacts and Key-Users) on IT Governance, IT issues, in line with the BU business Strategy, on the approval of budgets and plans (8 Quarter IT Roadmap) and major investments, in order to ensure IT awareness in decision making, stimulate synergy and (cost) efficiency in IT related decisions and to achieve maximum results on IT
Program / Project Management
- Accountable for the BU/Opco IT program
- Executes, guides and monitors the project portfolio in the BU as well as specific BU project portfolio, Nutreco Competence Center project portfolio, and Nutreco Global project portfolio
- Monitors the performance of projects/programs and benefits evaluation
Human Resources Management
- Takes the lead in and organizes Key User and IT contacts meetings
- Organizes training where needed
