Job Purpose:
The MRO Category Specialist is responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies, category plans, and product initiatives that drive sales growth and profitability for the assigned product categories within the MRO segment. This role requires strong market insight, analytical skills, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure the successful positioning and performance of the product portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive market and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and threats within the industrial tools and accessories sector, particularly for the metalworking industry.
- Define product positioning and differentiation strategies based on market insights and customer needs.
- Create and implement strategic marketing plans for assigned categories, including pricing strategies, promotional campaigns, product launches, substitutions, and phase-outs.
- Lead the development and introduction of new products by identifying market requirements, coordinating with internal stakeholders, and managing the product lifecycle.
- Collaborate with sales, procurement, engineering, and operations teams to ensure category strategies are aligned with business goals.
- Monitor category performance, analyze KPIs, and propose corrective actions to improve profitability and market share.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, customer feedback, and emerging technologies relevant to MRO and metal-mechanic applications.
- Support training and communication efforts to ensure internal and external stakeholders are informed about product updates and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Industrial design, Mechatronics engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in product marketing, category management, or business development within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
- Proficient in market research, pricing strategies, and product lifecycle management.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Experience in the MRO or metalworking industry is highly preferred.
- Bilingual (Spanish and English) is a plus.
