Responsibilities

Firewall Associate Jr Manger

Main Purpose

Firewall Specialist is responsible for the ongoing operations of network security components such as Palo alto firewall and management tool (Panorama), he/she will act as a Single point of contact for the technical tower in front of the customer management.

The ideal candidate will have deep experience of networking technologies, such as routing, switching, wireless networking, network security managing next-generation firewalls, proxy systems, DNS and DHCP systems. Experience in Palo Alto firewall systems management would be mandatory. Experience should be on installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of firewall systems (notably PaloAlto).

Firewall Specialist Lead will be a member of the Global Network Operations organization. This resource will serve as a subject matter expert on Palo Alto Firewall in Network operations team. The resource will provide thought leadership, provide technical oversight, and ensure that Palo Alto Firewalls are managed and operated as per PepsiCo requirements.

Accountabilities / Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a three - five year plan for the PA firewall operating model plan and Optimization of team
• Provide Firewall Rules optimization and capacity planning of the firewalls for business needs
• Monitoring High Availability of the Palo Alto Firewalls
• Support operations direction and design issues as well as influence peers, cross-functional partners,
• Effectively presenting facts and recommendations in oral and written form
• Plan / review and implement all PA firewall changes

Qualifications

Qualifications / Requirements

• Relevant experience in network security managing next-generation firewalls, proxy systems, DNS and DHCP systems.
• Experience in Palo Alto firewall systems management would be mandatory. Experience should be on installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of firewall systems (notably PaloAlto).
• Knowledge of high-availability (HA) configurations and Panorama (Palo Alto) management tool.
• Must have experience in supporting Firewall UTM features, IDS/IPS
• Experience in firewall administration, Network and Information Security, network administration.
• Experience in managing and coordinating network and firewall changes (rules, logs etc).
• Requires in-depth knowledge of TCP/IP and communication protocols. Knowledge of IPSec, GRE tunnels, multi casting and traffic balancing techniques essential.
• Hands-on experience with all phases of firewall and network operations, firewall change requests, firewall configuration, network services, and network security
• Ability to tackle complex network issues in the LAN and WAN networks and working with multiple application and system teams to identify bottlenecks and other network configuration issues.
• Must possess the ability to learn multiple areas of a new technology and rapidly growing current technical and advisory knowledge
• Knowledge of network routing (BGP, EIGRP) and switching protocols, multicast and QoS protocols, Cisco hardware routers and switches, hands on experience with Cisco Nexus switches is a plus.
• Excellent English oral and written communication skills including ability to interact optimally with executives, vendors and department staff.
• Experience in tracking project outcomes realization and customer happiness levels through established metrics against service level. Ensure lessons learned are collected and detailed
