About the Role: The primary goal of the AML Compliance Associate is to execute and enhance the AML program by ensuring effective transaction monitoring, analysis, and reporting of AML activities. This role also involves participation in governance, supervision, and regulatory activities in coordination with the AML and compliance team. The AML Analyst is vital in maintaining the integrity of financial operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and proposing improvements to the current AML program.
As an AML Compliance Associate, you will:
Analyze the alerts triggered by Automated System as well as its proper documentation to support rationales and conclusions.
Perform Watchlist Screening of possible matches referred by stakeholders, complementary processes, and/or automated systems.
Test enhancements to AML internal systems.
Maintain the integrity of customers by validating KYC information when required.
Update & improve AML processes.
Assist different teams in identifying and assessing financial crime risks.
The ideal candidate will have:
Bachelor's degree.
At a minimum, 1 to 2 years of experience in AML/AFT Compliance, transaction monitoring & CDD (customer due diligence) at a financial institution.
Fluency in both Spanish and English.
Excellent project management skills, including documentation and procedure creation.
Advanced proficiency skills in Excel, including data analysis and visualization.
Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to identify and resolve issues effectively.
Proven experience in a demanding support role with a variety of responsibilities.
Exceptional organizational skills and strong verbal and written communication abilities.
Highly detail-oriented.
Experience in developing comprehensive reports.
