About the role

As an Engineer on the ServiceNow team, you will work on a wide variety of projects. You will collaborate with a diverse set of partners across the enterprise, including shared services teams like IT, HR, Legal, Compliance, and Information Security, as well as lines of business within Zillow's portfolio. You will bring to bear your knowledge of ServiceNow, your grasp of standard methodologies for that platform, as well as your established chops as a developer to help craft sophisticated, robust, and scalable solutions against requirements provided by project and product managers. Finally, you'll share your knowledge and experience with team members, including mentoring junior engineers, to increase our efficacy and breadth of understanding of the platform and how best to realize value within it.

As a ServiceNow Developer, you will:

• Develop sophisticated, scalable solutions in ServiceNow, using standard methodologies/patterns for that platform, to address prioritized business needs across Zillow, primarily for internally facing applications
• Contribute to design discussions with PMs, partners, and the dev team to ensure we are shipping the best solution to satisfy partner requirements
• Ship thoroughly tested and well-documented code; actively participate in training the team on new functionality to reduce siloed expertise and increase cross-functionality
• Find opportunities to improve upon existing functionality and/or processes (in terms of both addressing tech debt as well as improving scalability, alignment to good ServiceNow dev practice, etc.) and work with the team and management to get those opportunities framed, storied, prioritized, and implemented
• Mentor/guide the team on development standards and design practices, and help ensure compliance with those standards and practices through code review
• Participate in all Agile ceremonies, including daily standup, backlog grooming, pointing poker, as well as sprint planning, demos, and retrospective.

This role has been categorized as a teleworker position. Teleworkers do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice which must be identified to the Company. Employees may live in any part of Mexico, but preferably in Mexico City, as we would encourage attendance for occasional in-office events.

In addition to a competitive base salary and benefits, this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location.

Who you are

• 3-5 years of consistent track record with ServiceNow implementations including, but not limited to, Incident, Request, Change, Problem, Knowledge, SLAs, CMDB & Asset Management, Service Catalog, Reporting, and HRSD.
• Expert in all scripting aspects of ServiceNow - Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, Scheduled Scripts, etc.
• Proficient in JavaScript, Angular, and HTML/CSS
• Proficient in system integration using web services
• Comfortable working with diverse types of customers, with varying levels of technical understanding
• The ideal candidate will have meaningful hands-on experience with the following: Service Portal development, Virtual Agent, AI Search, Performance Analytics, HRSD, Automated Testing Framework (ATF), Integration Hub, and/or Flow Designer!
• Experienced with HRSD Implementation (required)
• Certified ServiceNow Admin (required)
• Certified HRSD (required)
• ITIL Foundation Certification (preferred)
