Job Description
If you are an Accounting/Finance professional looking to grow your career, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our Nuevo Laredo, Mexico location, you will oversee and control the plant accounting team and operations, reporting, financial analysis and budgeting functions for Branson's operations in Mexico. You will be responsible for the development, analysis and reporting of all financial information and documents for Branson Mexico periodic Actual and Planning activities. You will manage the internal control functions for Mexico Operations. You will manage and control all financial transactions to ensure compliance with local statutory requirements, US GAAP and Emerson policies and procedures. You will work closely with site leaders, understanding the various aspects of the operation and the impact change has on financial performance.
The position will report directly to Corporate Headquarters and operationally to the Plant Manager.
The right candidate will demonstrate strong ability to work with and influence operations team and others not within direct reporting relationship.

AS A PLANT CONTROLLER, YOU WILL:
- Manage the monthly close process including applicable journal entries and inventory reconciliations.
- Maintain monthly Balance Sheet Account reconciliations.
- Maintain financial books in both local statutory and US GAAP basis.
- Review, analyze and evaluate financial data and information for accuracy consistency and transparency.
- Analyze departmental spend vs budget.
- Maintain integrity of financial reports
- Ensure predictability of financial results by driving an effective annual budget and quarterly forecasting process
- Manage the deployment of cost saving and other programs to support operating improvements and increase profitability.
- Assist with and review capital project activity in the location including ROI and IRR analysis as appropriate.
- Manage, coach and develop direct reports and provide positive working environment.
- USMCA and PRISMA reconciliations
- Responsible for all Tax Compliance Obligations and other regulatory filings of the Company (VAT, state payroll tax, Social Security, retirement fund, Housing Fund, etc.)
- Coordinate local audit with both internal and external parties.
- Lead annual physical inventory count.
- Maintain and document all processes and procedures.
- Monitor and provide opportunities to support continuous improvement of Plant Productivity
- Contribute to a strong controls and compliance environment in areas of scope and ensure full compliance with Emerson policies.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS:
- A bachelor's degree in accounting/ Finance is required, MBA/CPA preferred.
- 8-15 years related progressive financial experience, preferably in large manufacturing environment company, controlling and managerial responsibilities.
- Cost Accounting experience a plus
- Advanced PC skills required, including excel and ability to analyze large volumes of data.
- Oracle, Hyperion, Smartview, a plus
- An impeccable sense of integrity and business ethics
- Cultural sensitivity
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively in teams.
- Foreign and Domestic travel might be required, no more than 5%
