Geophysicist (12 Months)

About The Role

For an important International Oil & Gas Company, we are currently looking for a Geophysicist to work in Mexico City.

To be successful in this Role, you need:

Bachelors in Geophysical Engineering.

Over 15 years of industry experience in areas related to geophysics and seismic data processing.

Knowledge of Mexican geology with a strong focus on the Southeast Basin and salt geology.

Experience in seismic interpretation, well-seismic ties, attribute generation, and depth conversion.

Experience in AVO, seismic inversion, fluid substitution and 4D studies for development projects.

Experience in disciplines such as structural geology and salt basin geology.

Scope of work includes but is not limited to:

Seismic interpretation, well-seismic ties, depth conversion, and reservoir prediction to identify, mature and follow up drilling development wells.

AVO analysis and seismic inversion projects to predict reservoir thickness, distribution, and fluid type (fluid substitution).

Integration of inversion products in static modelling - seismic resampling of Phie cubes and sand presence or lithological associations.

Evaluation of volume and risk in compliance with company guidelines.

Planning and supervision of well seismic, monitoring of seismic (re)processing projects, 4D seismic studies, contractor quality control.

Contribution to data acquisition strategy for wells.

Pre-drill wells locations selection and Post-well analysis, in close collaboration with involved disciplines.

Presentation of results internally and to joint venture companies, workshops, and conferences.

Cooperation with research and governmental organizations in Mexico.

Provide Technical support to liaise with regulatory entities such as CNH, ASEA, etc.

Adherence to corporate HSEQ standards and data management.

Mandatory skills:

Excellent English and Spanish communication skills.
