The Veterinary Affairs Associate Manager will be in charge of strategy and implementation of PVA in the central America and Caribbean countries. The person is an essential role in liaising with marketing and customer development to define local strategy and plan to drive veterinary channel Brand recommendation (Brand Recommend Most Often - BRMO) and share, with focus on: 


  • leveraging digital as a key enabler to drive awareness, engagement & education
  • building veterinary endorsement, recommendation and use of Hill's products in veterinary clinics. The role works closely with the LATAM Manager of Professional Veterinary Affairs to implement strategy-driven plans for key target audiences including: Key Thought Leaders (academic and non-academic); practicing veterinarians; non-veterinarian health care team members in practices; students and faculty at veterinary and technician schools; and, Hill's distributors.
  • positioning Hill's in the profession as an important scientific, innovative and credible partner who is engaged in improving the health of dogs and cats and in supporting the profession as a key partner in delivering the Hill's mission to help enrich and lengthen the special relationships between people and their pets.
  • strengthening veterinarians' understanding and knowledge of our products and making nutrition a more integral part of veterinary medicine by educating veterinarians to implement a nutritional assessment and specific dietary recommendation for Every Pet, Every Time.



Main Responsibilities


Internal 

  • Builds and grows positive relationships with cross-functional peers 
  • Ensures that all Hill's contacts and communications to consistently meet the professional, ethical and regulatory standards demanded by the veterinary community and the corporation (incl. CP Code of Conduct, FCPA, anti-bribery and pet food regulations, etc.)



All distributors 

  • Communicate all webinars, events, forums, monthly trainings, technical materials and PVA actions
  • Organize monthly trainings for all distributors (reinforcing product benefits / product launches) 



Commercial 

  • Provide technical field training (vet clinics and vet hospitals), FB, IG Live & commercial team training
  • Visit important vet clinics and vet hospitals to create relationship and organize trainings for all staff members 
  • Ensure integration of PVA strategies with local commercial team by working closely with Customer development and Marketing
  • Consult with Marketing on the scientific content of communication materials to ensure compliance to latest tech / vet local knowledge 



Professional Affairs: 

  • Vet Congress: help the distributor in the event organization and attend the mains vet congress (align the topic that will be exposed, giveaways, stand structures with marketing, the technical content, printed materials and Hills agenda during the event). The PVA person needs to be present in all these events to guarantee the perfect execution. 
  • Business meeting with key thought leaders: the PVA Manager needs to visit the KTL, organize the contract (when we need a contract) and improve the relationship with Hills brand.
  • Engage with key thought leaders to increase endorsement and sales of the company products
  • Identify, build and sustain critical relationships and networks with current and future experts, thought leaders, academic institutions, veterinary and technician associations and internal peers in various departments
  • Define strategies and tactics for building partnerships based on knowledge of Hill's Professional Strategy and awareness of what the competition is doing. 
  • Guarantee that all the presentations and technical materials are updated to reinforce the knowledge and science engagement of the brand


Academic Affairs: 

  • Identify and collaborate with key contacts at academic institutions
  • Identify and develop opportunities for educating the next generation of veterinary professionals
  • Visit the vet school that was chosen to implement the PVA strategy



Education & Experience

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM)
  • Minimum 3 years industry or clinical experience
  • Master degree or post-graduation in dogs and cat nutrition or feline medicine/dermatology (small animals)
  • Practice experience desirable
  • Demonstrated ability in coaching and training supported by several years of related experience
  • Self-starter with high initiative
  • General computer skills, strong organization and time management skill
  • Advanced English




The position is based in Mexico City and will support all Central Am and Caribbean countries.
