Description

The position is responsible to provide planning & performance oversight across major streams within the Facility business: 

  • Real Estate Planning - Support the Real Estate team's revenue activities by facilitating the gathering of key lease contract information and entering into the Real Estate SAP module to drive revenue recognition and invoicing. Support the Team Lead by accessing data to address departmental queries, stakeholder requests and reporting requirements. Provide ongoing input and guidance for the coordination of SAP module integration
  • Utility Management (USA and/or Canada backup) - Facilitate new utility account setup and coordinate between CPKC departments, Utility companies, and the Utility Bill Payment Manager, tracks consumption and expenditures, provides input to CP's Annual sustainability report and periodic variance explanations (month/quarter/annual) and specific operations department request regarding our various facilities

 

Accountabilities

  • Support SAP Leasing Module processes including lease agreement entry, administration, and recurring invoicing and revenue amortization.
  • Coordinates with IS department to resolve technical issues involving data inconsistencies, revenue recognition and amortization.
  • Advises and tests solutions to facilitate Real Estate module migration and upgrades.
  • Develops & distribute various standardized performance & financial measure reports.
  • Performs  ongoing (monthly/quarterly) reconciliation of deferred lease revenue accounts & documentation.
  • Provide analytical support for various time-sensitive senior management queries.
  • Facilitates new utility account setup and coordinates between CPKC departments, utility companies, and the Utility Bill Payment Manager.
  • Actively monitors utility issues, proposes solutions and escalates instances of late payments, shut-off notices and consumption spikes.
  • Investigates and utility account ownership and validates with internal stakeholders.
  • Tracks consumption and expenditures, provides input to CPS Annual sustainability report and periodic variance explanations (month/quarter/annual) and specific operations department request regarding our various facilities.
  • Actively monitors utility account inventory to assess data completeness and seeks outstanding data from stakeholders.

 

Ideal Candidate Qualifications

  • University degree in business, accounting, finance or related field.
  • Must have 1 year or accounting, accounts payable or accounts receivable experience.
  • Must have 1 year of prior experience with a large ERP system (e.g. SAP, JD Edwards).
  • Process management skills.
  • Application Expertise (desirable): BPC, Excel.
  • Ability to set and meet deadlines and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to build relationships cross functionally.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
