Job Overview
At Schenker International S.A. de C.V. we are looking for an Application Support Specialist to be part of our IT team, for our office in Guadalajara, Mexico, who will be responsible for support and operations of application services (2nd Level Support) and supporting the application maintenance.
What you need to succeed (Qualifications, experience, skills, attributes)
- University degree in computer science or related discipline.
- Preferably 3-5 years of relevant working experience in large multi-national organizations as an application support specialist.
- Experience and knowledge in logistics is perferred.
- Experience in WebService technologies (and related standards).
- Proficient in ITSM ticketing platforms (i.e. ServiceNow).
- Basic knowledge in Operating Systems (i.e. Window, Linux/Unix).
- Basic knowledge in Java EE framework (EJB, JSP), Apache, Web Service, XML.
- Working knowledge on tools like SQL developer, GitHub, Eclipse.
- Basic knowledge of API (REST, SoapUI).
- Basic knowledge in MS SQL databases.
- Competent in ITIL processes (Incident and Problem management).
What will be your challenges?
- Maintains WMS related application support processes, and checks that all requests for support are dealt with according to agreed procedures.
- Uses application management software and tools to investigate issues, collect performance statistics and create reports.
- Prioritizes and diagnoses incidents according to agreed procedures.
- Investigates causes of incidents and seeks resolution.
- Escalates unresolved incidents.
- Facilitates recovery, following resolution of incidents.
- Documents and closes resolved incidents according to agreed procedures.
- Initiates and monitors actions to investigate and resolve problems in systems, processes and services.
- Determines problem fixes/remedies.
- Assists with the implementation of agreed remedies and preventative measures.
