Descripción
The Project Engineer is essential for implementing engineering projects within the WCM Early Equipment Management framework. This role involves developing engineering concepts, creating technical specifications, and collaborating with integrators and equipment suppliers. The Project Engineer will also support the purchasing team in RFQ processes, conduct risk analyses, and apply project management techniques to ensure project success. By working closely with various departments, the Project Engineer will help achieve strategic equipment installation and facility design objectives.
Responsibilities:
o Develop engineering concepts and solutions for equipment installation and facility design.
o Create detailed schematics, layouts, and technical specifications.
o Collaborate with integrators and equipment suppliers to ensure alignment and agreement on project requirements.
o Prepare Life Cycle Cost (LCC) analyses to support decision-making.
o Assist the purchasing team in the RFQ process for new equipment.
o Conduct Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Supplier Acceptance Testing (SAT).
o Perform risk analyses, including PFMEA, to identify and mitigate potential issues.
o Manage change effectively throughout the project lifecycle.
o Utilize problem-solving methodologies such as Red X and Six Sigma to address challenges.
o Employ project management techniques, including Gantt charts and critical path analysis, to monitor project progress and governance.
o Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
Qualifications:
o Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related).
o Proven experience in project engineering, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
o Strong knowledge of engineering principles and practices, particularly in equipment installation and facility design.
o Familiarity with Life Cycle Cost (LCC) analysis and project management methodologies.
o Experience with risk analysis techniques, including PFMEA.
o Proficiency in problem-solving methodologies such as Red X and Six Sigma.
o Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external suppliers.
o Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
o Strong analytical and technical skills, with attention to detail.
o Proficient in project management software and engineering design tools.
Experience:
o Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in project engineering or a related field within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
o Demonstrated experience in developing engineering concepts and managing equipment installation projects from conception to completion.
o Proven track record in collaborating with suppliers and integrators to deliver projects on time and within budget.
o Experience in conducting Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Supplier Acceptance Testing (SAT).
o Emphasis on experience in projects involving production line moves and the relocation and implementation of equipment.
o Experience in expansion projects for industrial facilities and the redefinition of plant layouts.
o Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies, including Gantt charts and critical path analysis.
o Prior involvement in risk management processes and problem-solving initiatives.
Knowledge:
o Strong understanding of engineering principles, methodologies, and best practices in equipment installation and facility design.
o Knowledge of Life Cycle Cost (LCC) analysis and its application in project decision-making.
o Familiarity with risk analysis techniques, including PFMEA, and their implementation in project management.
o Proficient in problem-solving methodologies, such as Red X and Six Sigma.
o Understanding project management processes, tools, and techniques, including Gantt charts and critical path analysis.
o Awareness of industry standards and regulations related to manufacturing and engineering projects.
o Knowledge of procurement processes and supplier management.
