Manufacturing company located in San Luis Potosí, Mexico, leader in the engineering and manufacturing of high-quality plastic automotive components for both interior and exterior applications. The company supplies premium brands such as BMW, Tesla, Mercedez Benz, VOLVO, VW, LUCID and Stellantis.
Position: Injection Process Engineer
Primarily responsible for the developing, optimizing, and maintaining injection molding processes to ensure the efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality production of plastic components, as well as the industrialization of new products, process optimization, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
To be succesulful in this role you must to have:
- Bachelor's degree in chemical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field, and/or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience in injection molding process engineering, preferably in an automotive or high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Operations in the automotive industry Tier1-2Experience in launching new molding projects.
- Familiarity with scientific molding principles and process control.
- Strong knowledge of thermoplastics, mold design, and injection molding machines (Engel, Krauss Maffei, MUCEL, etc.).
- Proficiency in statistical analysis and process validation.
- Lean Manufacturing Thinking - SMED proeficient.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.
- Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration.
- Intermedium English.
- Disposition for rotation 2 shifts - Day offs on weekends.
Responsabilities:
- Develop, validate, and optimize injection molding processes for new and existing automotive components, ensuring compliance with customer specifications and internal quality standards.
- Participate in new product launches by conducting mold trials, process capability studies.
- Troubleshoot process issues related to part quality, cosmetic defects, cycle time, and scrap reduction; implement root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with tooling, quality, production, and maintenance teams to ensure stable and repeatable molding operations.
- Document and standardize molding parameters and work instructions for production handover.
- Provide expertise in technical support to manufacturing functions, products, and inspection issues.
- Train and support molding technicians and operators in troubleshooting, best practices.
- Promote and implement SMED workshops to reduce time in mold changes.
