Role Profile: Maintenance Manager - Automotive Sector
Location: El Salto, Jalisco
Job Purpose:
To lead and manage preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance activities for machinery, equipment, and facilities in the automotive sector, ensuring maximum operational availability while meeting quality, cost, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance Management:
- Develop, implement, and oversee preventive and predictive maintenance plans.
- Ensure efficient troubleshooting and repair of critical equipment to minimize production downtime.
- Team Leadership:
- Direct and supervise the technical maintenance team.
- Foster professional development and continuous training for team members.
- Resource Management:
- Coordinate the procurement of tools, spare parts, and equipment needed for maintenance activities.
- Optimize costs and manage the department's budget effectively.
- Compliance with Regulations:
- Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards specific to the automotive industry (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, IATF 16949).
- Implement and audit procedures aligned with international standards.
- Performance Analysis:
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as MTTR (Mean Time to Repair), MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures), and equipment availability.
- Propose and execute continuous improvement initiatives based on data analysis and results.
- Cross-Department Collaboration:
- Work closely with production, quality, and engineering teams to align objectives.
- Participate in process improvement projects, new technology implementation, and capacity expansion initiatives.
Job Requirements:
- Educational Background:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.
- Preferred: Postgraduate degree or certification in Industrial Maintenance or Project Management.
- Professional Experience:
- 5-8 years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably within the automotive sector.
- Proven experience in leading teams and managing budgets.
- Technical Knowledge:
- Strong expertise in maintaining CNC machinery, industrial robots, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Interpersonal Skills:
- Leadership and ability to manage multidisciplinary teams.
- Negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Effective communication and strategic decision-making.
- Other Requirements:
- Advanced English proficiency (desirable for multinational companies).
- Availability to work rotating shifts or under high-pressure environments.
