As a Supplier Performance Engineer you will be responsible for setting quality targets, monitoring, reviewing, and analyzing supplier performance metrics. You will focus on resolving continuous improvement opportunities with suppliers, not limited to quality, but also process, cost, and productivity.
In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Implement quality strategies with suppliers to meet the internal standards and requirements
- Monitor, communicate, and improve critical metrics in the supply chain, such as Supplier Timeliness Delivery (OTD), Parts Per Million (PPMS), Lead times, Days Late, etc.
- Support manufacturing sites in quality issues
- Develop plans for supplier delivery performance, cost reduction and projected savings
- Develop and implement supplier quality evaluations, supplier metrics and control systems
- Conduct supplier audits (ESAC) to drive process standardization, waste elimination, and continuous improvement
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve supplier quality issues and address needed corrective actions to avoid recurrence
- Supplier training and education
- Implement 8D'S with suppliers
- Coordinate quarterly meetings with critical vendors and plants to communicate delivery plans
- Find areas of opportunity on the supply chain and generate actions to improve the processes
- Attend and close rejection reports between supplier and plants
- Tooling transferring coordination
- Monitoring and follow up first article inspection reports (FAIS) and continuous vendor feedback
- Visit onsite vendors facilities
- Open purchase orders follow up and actions plan
Who You Are:
- Demonstrate initiative and determination in solving problems
- Ability to communicate and build collaborative interpersonal relationships with the suppliers and Emerson teams
- You look for obstacles and develop excellent contingency plans
- Actively seek mentorship from pertinent sources to make timely and well-informed decisions
For This Role, You Will Need:
- We are looking for candidates with a Bachelor´s Degree or equivalent experience in Engineering or Business Administration
- Demonstrate knowledge in problem solving tools
- 5-7 years in experience working directly with castings
Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
- Demonstrated experience in casting and their processes
- Solid understanding of quality control standards and testing methodologies
- Preferred negotiation skills
- Tooling/mold fabrication experience
- Technically skilled with foundry processes in different materials
- Ideal knowledge in foundry defects
- Implemented various projects to reduce scrap
- Preferred familiarity with quality management systems (ISO 9001).
- Ability to travel for supplier visits
