Welding Engineer

General Description

Welding Engineer. They are mainly responsible for analyzing the methods and sequence in manual and semi-automatic welding operations ensuring high levels of quality, productivity, efficiency and cost reduction. The Welding Engineer must ensure welding requirements are properly deployed and complied in the production area.

Main Responsibilities

-Welder qualifications and maintenance.

-Machine qualifications.

-Welding route creation and maintenance.

-Audit support.

-Handling complaints and non-conformities.

-Manufacturing engineering manager in the welding area.

-Creation of procedures and reports.

-Welding metrics manager.

Qualifications

-At least two years of experience as a welding process engineer working under industry codes/standards, preferably TIG welding and materials such as stainless steel and Inconel.

-Experience in welder and process qualification (WPS, WPQ).

-Experience in Lean Manufacturing.

-Management of quality core tools.

-Professional use of advanced Microsoft Office to manage reports and executive presentations.

-Interpretation of engineering blueprints (Geometric Dimensions).

-General knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma.

-General knowledge of pre-weld chemical cleaning processes and post-weld non-destructive testing (Visual, Liquid Penetrant and X-Ray).
