The Mexico Seed Production Research and Characterization is responsible for:
- Support seeds production teams within México by providing technical guidance and recommendations.
- Support global production research team to leverage tools and functionalities based on perspectives from México.
- Identify key business opportunities to be prioritized and establish action plans to deliver results that meet the identified demands.
- Data collection from seed fields and Parent Characterization trials.
- Share best practices within Latin America region and globally.
- Attend meetings that aim to create and review production plans and advocate for producibility risk assessment and product allocation.
- Deploy seedsman ship capabilities for country seed field agronomists - including sharing best practices from other regions in and outside México.
- Train and facilitate implementation of functionalities from digital tools: Blueprint, EDGE, ProMap, Seed Pro, SPIN; as well as drone and satellite imagery view and analysis.
- Drive initiatives to reduce COGS, improve seed quality and enable Seed Production team to be a reliable supplier.
- Capture demands from Seed Production and Supply Chain (SPSC) teams.
- Plan activities that meet SPSC needs in México.
- Visit and scout seed fields to understand product performance and outputs from recommendations.
- Organize available data and provide planting recommendations - mostly focus on nick, budget yield, herbicide sensitiveness, plant population, row ratio, preferrable growing areas, primary planting dates, disease sensitiveness, and watch outs for the products.
- Support product advancement meetings by data analysis and provide solutions thru a data driven perspective.
- Leverage best practices across teams and establish control plans to make sure results will be properly implemented.
- Support Parent Characterization efforts to ensure experiment placement, data collection, SPSC strategy representativeness, data input into systems (Pacman, PRISM).
- Support to standardize regional and global Production Research strategies in México.
- Need to provide reliable and complete data to support seed production in México.
- Interact with other regions and countries to get to know better the products that will be produced to export..
- Undergraduate in Agronomy.
- Minimum 5 years Seed Production experience - corn crop.
- Statistics data analysis knowledge and statistical software experience (R, SAS, Minitab, JMP).
- Good knowledge in MS-Office - especially MS-Excel.
- Communication and relationship skills.
- Travel availability for frequent travels with appropriate driver's license.
- Availability to set home address close to Culiacán, México.
- Previous experiences on corn and seed production practices.
- Desirable to be a person with high curiosity and innovative mindset.
- Willing to overcome obstacles and find out solutions.
- English, at least, intermediate level.
