Job Description – Materials Planner

As a Materials Planner, you will be essential to maintaining the smooth and efficient flow of our production operations. This role focuses on the strategic coordination of inventory and materials to ensure production schedules are met without overstocking or running short. You'll work closely with suppliers, cross-functional teams in both Mexico and the U.S., and production staff to anticipate material demands and align them with manufacturing goals.

The ideal candidate will leverage planning systems and supply chain best practices to track inventory levels and initiate timely orders, helping to avoid disruptions due to shortages or surpluses. Your expertise will contribute to cost reduction, improved efficiency, and increased adherence to on-time delivery commitments. In this fast-paced environment, you will also be responsible for managing and optimizing material planning systems and analyzing performance data to drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain accurate material plans to meet production requirements.
• Monitor inventory levels and initiate orders to replenish stock as needed.
• Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and components.
• Analyze production schedules to assess material demand and adjust plans accordingly.
• Utilize systems to forecast needs and streamline inventory management processes.
• Identify and resolve material shortages or excess inventory situations promptly.
• Generate reports on inventory status, procurement activities, and supplier performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field.
• Proven experience in Material Planning or inventory management within manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of MRP and inventory management software.
• Strong Excel skills
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with cross-functional teams.
• Strong English skills (written and verbal)
