As a Global Commodity Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing supplier relationships and developing global strategies across specific commodities to achieve the best value for Tenneco. You will facilitate global cross functional commodity teams to implement strategies, and will also provide guidance to commodity buyers, located in different locations and regions, working in the related commodities.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive global commodity strategies aligned with the company's overall business goals and objectives.
- Evaluate supplier capabilities, performance, Innovations, and financial stability to ensure reliable and sustainable partnerships.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality, and operations to ensure that the commodity strategies meet the technical, operational, and quality requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize costs, enhance supplier performance, and streamline procurement processes to meet the annual targets.
- Monitor market trends, global supply chain dynamics, and geopolitical factors affecting the automotive industry to proactively manage risks and opportunities.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to achieve the best possible value while maintaining high quality standards.
- Manage supplier relationships and lead supplier performance reviews to drive accountability and continuous improvement.
- Identify and implement supplier diversification strategies to enhance supply chain ESG & resilience.
- Participate in the development and execution of sourcing strategies for new product introductions and engineering changes.
- Contribute to the development of procurement policies, procedures, and best practices.
What will make you successful?
Minimum Requirements:
- Master's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Desired minimum five (5) years in leading Global Commodities, preferably stamping, plastic and rubber components within the manufacturing industry, ideally automotive OEM, and 1st Tier suppliers.
- Demonstrated experience in best-in-class Global Commodity strategy practices including but not limited to; spend analysis, system and tools, commodity core team management, should be costing and value analysis/value engineering.
- Proven performance in achieving results to the commodity strategy within procurement. Key Performance Indicators are, but not limited to; cost savings, supplier base consolidation, supplier Innovation, commodity strategy deployment, cash flow (days payable) and total supplier base performance.
- Proven experience in establishing and leading global commodity teams
- Demonstrated success establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external key stakeholders.
- In-depth knowledge of automotive commodities, market trends, and supply chain dynamics.
- Strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management skills.
- Global experience and strong cross-cultural orientation are important to understand and respond to regional differences in execution styles.

- Strategic thinker with a keen sense of the importance of tactical execution
- Strong leadership skills in motivating, engaging, energizing, and managing commodity teams located in multiple geographical facilities as well as influencing globally.
- Ability to drive accountability and high levels of performance throughout the commodity.
- Proven track record of achieving cost savings and process improvements through effective commodity strategies.
- Outstanding analytical skills, with strong planning and problem-solving abilities and the capacity to make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent communication skills to interface with suppliers at a senior level
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
- Demonstrated ability to champion change and implement strategies to meet goals with a proven track record of success.
- Team player able to maintain effective working relationships with internal and external key stakeholders.
- Skilled in SAP & general purchasing systems experience, as well as adequate Microsoft Office skills
- Familiarity with engineering drawings, specifications, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to work independently under general direction and work with a high degree of professional and ethical standards.
- Language skills: English: oral and written.
- Willingness to travel as required; approximately 25 %.
