Job Description
We're looking for a detail-oriented team player to help us prepare video content for ad-supported streaming platforms (Ad-Based Video On Demand – AVOD, like Tubi, Pluto TV, or the free tier of Max). The AVOD Content Conditioner is responsible for watching video content and placing ad break markers at the right moments, ensuring that ads appear in natural, non-disruptive places during playback.
Key Responsibilities
- This role works closely with the AVOD Conditioning team to make sure ad breaks are placed accurately, following internal guidelines and technical standards. Using Warner Bros. Discovery's internal video annotation tools, you'll identify where ads should go and tag them accordingly. This position requires a mix of creativity and precision — you'll need to think about story flow and viewer experience while meeting fast-paced delivery deadlines.
- Watch and tag video content: Use internal tools to review episodes, movies, and specials to determine where ad breaks make the most sense (e.g., after a scene ends or before a major transition).
- Focus on viewer experience: Ensure ad breaks don't interrupt important scenes or dialogue. Maintain a good rhythm and narrative flow so that ad placements feel natural.
- Maintain high quality: Double-check your own work and that of others to make sure everything meets WBD's standards. Suggest improvements where needed.
- Collaborate with others: Work alongside AVOD leads and cross-functional teams to improve workflows and meet shared goals.
- Troubleshoot and optimize: Flag technical issues or workflow blockers and help find better ways of working.
- Stay organized: Manage multiple titles and shifting priorities, keeping track of your work and timelines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Media, Communications, Information Science, or a related field — or equivalent work experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in digital media, streaming, or broadcast operations.
- Comfortable using media asset management (MAM) systems and working with metadata (information used to describe or organize content).
- Basic understanding of Adobe Premiere Pro or other video editing software (non-linear editing platforms).
- Familiar with video formats and post-production or broadcast workflows.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Willing to work flexible hours when needed (some evenings, weekends, or holidays).
- Bonus: Experience in quality control, video editing, or OTT (over-the-top) streaming platforms is a plus.
