What You Will Do

As a Software Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and development of robust, scalable web applications and APIs for the Agriculture business systems
Work with product, UI/UX and development teams to transform functional requirements into a detailed design consistent with overall architectural vision
Work with international teams distributed across several time zones
Perform proof of concept and prototyping activities to validate design concepts
Be a central resource for all teams, ensuring comprehension and effective communication towards a common goal
Perform design and code reviews to ensure quality and consistency of implementation
Mentor development teams, promoting the use of proper design patterns and best practices.

What Skills & Experience You Should Bring
5+ years experience in large web application, API design and development
Experience with data storage systems, relational and document type databases, data modeling, and schema design
Proficiency in cloud-based platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
Experience with cloud design methodologies such as SOA, SaaS, or Event Driven architecture
Demonstrated ability to communicate and coordinate project design activities across multiple teams
Experience in making practical design tradeoffs based on technologies and schedule
Self-managed, self-starter able to work collaboratively in a rapidly changing environment

What Skills & Experience You Could Bring
Direct experience with Vue or other MVVM frameworks
Experience with server side frameworks/languages: .Net, Java, Ruby on Rails, etc
Experience using code Git repositories and CI/CD pipelines
Experience with containerization of workloads: Docker or Kubernetes

The Agriculture division builds precision farming systems, including displays and automated guidance systems for agricultural vehicles. Farmers use our guidance systems to automatically steer their tractors with highly accurate GPS/GNSS-based control. Our display systems automatically control farm implements performing operations like planting seeds, spraying fertilizer, and measuring crop yield in an optimal way based on soil conditions and agronomist prescriptions.
