Eaton's IS VEH VGNA division is currently seeking a Quality Engineer.

What you'll do:

PRIMARY FUNCTION

A. Quality engineers will support all quality aspects for Eaton
B. During the initial phase, these people would be supporting equipment install runoff and verifications, new documentation, quality system implementation, and other quality related start-up activities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

A. Represent quality engineering on shop floor and in necessary meetings analyzing and interpreting processing problems throughout the manufacturing process and implementing necessary actions for resolution.
B. Provide, assess and analyze process capability, MSA, process control plans and process audits.
C. Provide technical quality support to both internal and external customers and suppliers as needed.
D. Participate in production improvement meetings to provide a support function and an engineering perspective.
E. Work with manufacturing engineering to develop new processes to improve the quality of our parts and develop production tools or tooling fixtures to improve capability and/or reduce cost.
F. Support plant internal and fresh eyes audit programs.
G. Review, analyze, and close assigned internal or external corrective actions using systematic problem-solving techniques.
H. Manage supplier quality processes using standard supplier quality management tools.
I. Develop and training direct reports (quality technicians)
J. Implements, promotes and maintains a safe work environment by implementing a culture of accidents prevention, investigation, equipment maintenance and application of rules. Identify, control and administer risk and danger in own area.
K. Promotes the company's vision by actively supporting Eaton's ethics and values as well as quality policies.
L. Motivate and coach employees to maintain high levels of satisfaction, productivity, and quality through effectively utilizing available rewards and recognition channels to encourage and promote desired behaviors and results

Qualifications:

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE

A. Knowledge of statistical process control methodology

B. At least 3 years' experience as a quality engineer

C. Prior experience with statistical software (ex. Minitab)

D. Analytical and problem-solving skills

E. Ability to effectively use Power Point, Excel, Office

F. Knowledge of manufacturing processes, assembly processes, equipment technology, and equipment capability

G. Manufacturing Process Knowledge of:
a. Forging, Machining, Grinding, Heat Treat, Coatings, Assembly, Welding, Inspection equipment

H. Quality Core Tools of APQP, MSA, PFMEA, PPAP and SPC

Skills:

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

A. Leadership skills.
B. Customer interface.
C. Special improvement process (Kaizen, Six sigma, etc.).
D. Functional Competences: Analytical / Statistical Tools & Methods, External Requirement, Inspection & Testing, Product / Process Quality Planning, Quality Leadership
