WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:
- Apply specific technological expertise to specific projects.
- Work with cross-functional teams that launch products by taking market specifications from design to prototype to production. This can also cover both branded platform products and products engineered for specific customer application.
- Work closely with Sales and Marketing to partner with customers, engage in industry partnership, and establish other relationships enabling us to advance our product and technology reach.
- Translate customer needs into product specifications.
- Participate and lead cross functional product development teams.
- Coordinate and maintain complex development schedules.
- Supervise prototyping and testing.
- Direct outside activities such as regulatory or other third party testing.
- Establish test specifications and protocols.
- Assist in the development of product roadmaps.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
YOU HAVE:
- BS in engineering required.
- 3+ years of related engineering experience.
- Experience with detailed design for mechanical projects is valuable.
- In depth knowledge of CAD analysis tools such as Finite Element Analysis.
- In depth knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing processes such as rapid prototyping .
- In depth knowledge of fastening and joining techniques especially sheet metal related.
- Knowledge of all safety codes, standards, practices and rules to ensure safety of employees, public and equipment.
- Proven knowledge in complex sheet metal design.
- Demonstrated skill in Design for Manufacturability with the ability to lead teams through complex problems with cross functional teams.
- Demonstrated skill in researching, analyzing and making recommendations related to complex applications.
- Demonstrated skill to read and interpret product drawings.
- Demonstrated skill to develop and deliver effective presentations at all levels within the organization.
- Enovia or other file management system experience.
- Knowledge of Product Data Management, ECO and Product Development Processes.
- Demonstrated skill to read and interpret product drawings.
- Skill using SolidWorks, Enovia and JD Edwards or any other PLM similar.
- Demonstrated ability to operate in ambiguous environments and limited supervision. Be a self-starter/self-motivated, detail oriented and accuracy.
- Skill in written and oral communication with the ability to interface with people across multiple functional areas. Bilingual: Spanish- English.
- Ability to build and maintain effective work relationships across functional areas.
- Ability to adapt to rapidly changing business circumstances and have the ability to thrive in a constantly changing business environment.
- Ability to work across cultural boundaries - global mindset.
- Some travel may be required to project sites or fabrication facilities.
