As a PCB Layout Engineer, you'll be responsible for creating the next generation of leading-edge PCB Layout designs. This will bring new innovations in LED modules and drivers for the North American Lighting market. You will be part of our talented R&D team in Tijuana and work in a highly diverse, dynamic, and cross-functional team.

What you'll do

• Design and develop PCB Layouts for new LED modules and LED drivers that meet performance, quality, time-to-market, and cost targets as specified by Product Management & Marketing
• Responsible for all the PCB layout deliverables, including design files and documents, and addressing any questions from the from supplier to receive quotes on time.
• Perform all the required electrical clearance and mechanical clearance checks (such as creepage and clearance and) to ensure design and manufacturing rules are met.
• Create and deliver all the required technical Product documentation (TPD) related to PCB Layouts.
• Using a single PCB Layout board design, work with Manufacturing Engineering to develop an optimized mechanical panel design consisting of multiple PCB's.
• Work in a cross-functional Project team to develop the PCB Layouts and participate in design reviews, DFMEA's, and PFMEA's to ensure quality and robustness of the PCB's being developed.
• Follow up on any required changes to the PCB Layouts based on sample and pilot runs during the development process to improve manufacturability and testing in Production.
• Carry out any design modifications needed on released PCB's in Production as part of continuous improvement or due to learnings from the field.

Your qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• 2 to 5 years of experience in the job offered or in a similar position involving PCB layout of Electronic Products.
• Good knowledge of PCB technologies, PCB materials, and PCB production processes
• Experience in using PCB Layout tools and software such as Mentor Graphics Xpedition
• Basic knowledge of LED devices and Electronics and Mechanical engineering.
• Familiarity with soldering, assembly of parts, and troubleshooting is a plus.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• An excellent communicator and highly organized
• Ability to learn quickly, handle multiple projects, and work with minimal supervision in a cross-functional team environment
• Fluent in both English and Spanish
