REQUIRED
Experience or academic background in foreign trade or international business. Familiarity with the IMMEX program,
international logistics coordination, and import/export documentation.
OBJETIVE
Support international logistics operations by assisting with import/export coordination, ensuring basic IMMEX compliance, managing raw material documentation, and tracking shipment status. Serve as a communication link between the China logistics team and local shelter operations to ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment, under the supervision of senior staff.
ACTIVITIES
1. Track international shipments from their point of origin to their destination, including coordination with the China logistics team and shelter provider.
2. Support in import/export operations by preparing and validating packing lists, invoices, and customs
documentation.
3. Assist in IMMEX compliance, including capturing virtual import/export requests, identifying basic regime
classifications, and ensuring accurate filing of supporting documents.
4. Prepare and organize customs documentation, including manifests, commercial invoices, and certificates
of origin, under supervision.
5. Coordinate with customs agents to send necessary reports (e.g., tariff fraction reports) and follow up on
clearance processes.
6. Verify documentation consistency, ensuring processed requests match invoices and customs declarations
in the foreign trade system.
7. Support virtual operations, including preparing virtual invoices and assigning them to shipments when
required.
8. Follow up with clients and internal departments to collect data sheets for chemicals or special materials,
and provide them to the compliance team.
9. Request and validate Certificates of Origin, and assist in verifying RVC (Regional Value Content)
compliance.
10. Collaborate with finance/logistics on receiving and reviewing expense invoices from customs agents and
carriers, and support payment processing requests.
11. Prepare internal control reports related to shipment status, balances, and regulatory documents.
12. Assist in identifying when rectifications or updates to customs requests or logistics documents are
needed, and support the resolution process.
13. Maintain orderly records of petitions, invoices, reports, and compliance documentation, ensuring traceability
and audit-readiness.
14. Help monitor validity and balances of import permits or temporary importation requests.
15. Support communication with counterparties, such as suppliers, clients, and customs agents, especially
when resolving basic discrepancies in documentation.
KNOWLEDGES
Logistics & Trade Knowledge Familiarity with IMMEX, USMCA, virtual operations, and regime classification. Understanding of foreign trade concepts and import/export regulations.
Language & Communication Fluent in English and Spanish (spoken and written). Comfortable coordinating with overseas teams, especially in China. Strong communication, coordination, and adaptability.
Attention to Detail High level of accuracy, responsibility, and initiative when working under supervision.
Experience At least 1 year of experience in international logistics, with basic knowledge of import/export procedures and global shipping operations.
SKILLS
Documentation Management Ability to assist with petitions, packing lists, invoices, customs declarations, and maintain organized archives of supporting documents.
Systems & Tools: Experience using foreign trade systems, customs platforms, and report generation tools.
