Location: Remote - Mexico

What will you do?

• Be part of our team responsible for designing, writing, and delivering software to improve the availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of Thermo Fisher Scientific's services.
• Work with a team of software and systems engineers on projects for users responsible for uptime.
• Support end-to-end availability and performance of key services.
• Build automation to prevent problems recurrence.
• Automate a response to all non-exceptional service conditions.
• Be part of on-call rotations across continents, using a follow-the-sun model.

How will you get here?
Education

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering required.

Experience

• 4+ years of experience writing code and knowledge of networking tools, operating systems, and storage.
• Experience with Linux and Unix.
• Understanding of AWS or Virtualization technologies.
• Understanding of programming languages such as Python and Shell.
• Experience with Kubernetes/EKS/terraform/AWS/Akamai preferred.
• Experience in participating in MIMs (Major Incident Management).
• Experience in logging monitoring solutions such as Datadog or Splunk.
• Provide engineering support related to OS troubleshooting.
• Create operational automation to assist the team in repeatable tasks.
• Support the functionality of AWS environments.
• Contribute to reliable operations which include design, analysis, and task completion.
• Provide feedback on process improvements.
• Experience and knowledge of corporate infrastructure and operations.
