AWL Automation was founded in 2016 and established in Querétaro, Mexico. We have a strong ambition to further grow in the Mexican market for the upcoming years. We expect to expand with the automotive and metal processing industry to fulfill the needs for automated welding machines solutions. Nowadays we employ a young and growing team of approximately 60 employees and we are looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer who wants to be part of our growing team to shape the future!

What are you going to do?

Prepares a detailed design based on the specifications, information and standards provided. The design must remain viable and adapt to the client's needs along with the legal framework. The Mechanical Design Engineer selects the best possible solution and verifies the viability of offered alternatives. He decides the technical format and form execution as well as the materials and components that will be applied considering the time, budget and established standards. He will work closely with the Purchasing department, Operations Manager and Project Manager. He will attend the project to ensure that it is being carried out according to the design and will look for solutions in case any problems arise. Communication takes place in English and Spanish.

Your challenges?

• Works on technical tasks and project engineering activities;
• Prepares a detailed design based on the specifications, information and standards that were established from the beginning and establishes the feasibility of the design;
• Provides detailed execution of mechanical engineering elements within the instructions/specifications and supports the Project Manager/Operations Manager in the execution of the project;
• Performs calculations in order to meet standards and decide what materials are needed;
• Is responsible and ensures that the project is being prepared according to the initial plan along with legal requirements;
• Contact component suppliers and discuss specifications and applications if required;
• Provides information to the purchasing department regarding equipment, components and materials that should be ordered;
• Is in constant communication with AWL NL and represents the link between AWL and clients regarding their needs;

What do you bring with you?

• A Bachelor Degree preferably Mechanical Design, Mechanical Engineering or similar;
• 1 year of work experience in a similar position (preferably);
• Interest in automotive field and international work environment;
• Excellent ability to work analytically and solving problems;
• Solution-oriented and have good communicative and organization skills.
• A positive and analytical view.
• Advanced english level (written and spoken).
