Descripción
The QHSE Lead will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing Company's Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) policies and procedures in Mexico. This role involves ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, managing risk, and fostering a culture of safety and quality within the organization.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
- Knowledge of QHSE standards and regulations (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001) and continuous application during site activities.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a QHSE role, with a strong track record of managing quality, health, safety, and environmental programs. Experience in construction, site and plant activities is preferred.
- Advanced Conversational English.
- Ability to Travel
Key Responsibilities
- QHSE Management System: Develop, implement, and maintain the QHSE management system for the business are in Mexico in accordance with industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001). Ensure the system is effective, compliant, and continually improved.
- Compliance and Auditing: Ensure the company's operations comply with relevant international and local health, safety, environmental, and quality regulations and standards. Conduct internal audits and manage external audits to assess compliance and identify areas for improvement.
- Risk Management: Identify, assess, and manage risks related to health, safety, and environmental aspects. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and emergency response plans.
- Training and Awareness: Develop and deliver training programs on QHSE policies, procedures, and best practices. Promote a culture of safety and quality awareness among employees.
- Incident Management: Oversee the investigation of accidents, incidents, and non-conformities. Develop corrective and preventive action plans and ensure their effective implementation.
- Regulatory and Standards Updates: Stay updated with changes in QHSE regulations, standards, and best practices. Ensure that the company's QHSE policies and procedures are updated accordingly.
- Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and present QHSE performance reports to senior management. Maintain accurate and comprehensive QHSE documentation and records. Review and update the BMX HSE handbook [Safety, Health and Environment Regulations]
- Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to improve QHSE performance, including process improvements, best practice implementation, and benchmarking.
- Supplier and Contractor Management: Evaluate and monitor the QHSE performance of suppliers and contractors. Ensure that their practices align with company standards and regulatory requirements.
