What will you do
Under general direction, provides technical expertise for overall Materials and Engineering departments working as a liaison between both departments and working with relevant IT Systems and modules to support business processes to help meet target customer service levels and optimize inventory levels for the manufacturing plant assuring that all NPI products and EC will be fully implemented preventing the creation of waste such as excess of inventory, lack of components and production down time. Supports standardization processes with standardized best practices and tools. Manages overall plant efforts to assure consistent, economical, and timely flow of both purchased and raw materials, WIP and FG to support the manufacturing efforts.

How you will do it
- Determine critical materials and engineering process capabilities needed to support business objectives in production and supplier scheduling and define processes required to enable those capabilities.
- Responsible to drive standardization of those processes across multiple departments. Objective is optimized inventory levels balanced with efficient manufacturing operations.
- Engage key subject matter experts across the Manufacturing Plants from other disciplines to ensure defined business processes meet the needs of each organization / Department.
- While representing COE Materials and Engineering departments, partner with procurement, quality, manufacturing engineering, operations, and other areas, who have touch points with production scheduling and supplier scheduling, to ensure an integrated solution for the overall ERP system implementation.
- Interact with inside and outside departments & Operations Planning team members to review EC, ERP and NPI implementation.
- Document business processes, including guidance required to ensure a consistent application across the manufacturing plant. Develop material to support training. Define specific business roles that require training. Train department leaders and NPI leaders to become an ERP / Windchill super users on business processes, ensuring use of standard processes. Support IT colleagues in development of material to effectively train business users.
- Maintains effective working relationship and communication with plant personnel, and operations support organization.
- Leads once a week meeting with the Engineer Mgr. and Sr. Program Mgr. reporting advances on Engineering and COE Materials.
- Indirect responsibility for NPI / Product Life Cycle following the job description and process and procedures during the implementation of NPI, EC's and ERP's.
- Develop a weekly reporting process of engineering and materials systems usages such a matrix skill showing by department and personnel the understanding and capabilities, of the applications (systems).
- Developing of controls and tools for assuring the smooth implementation of NPI and EC's
- Continuously monitoring of the ERP / NPI / Materials people engagement, reporting advances during the weekly meeting system
- Complete on time any another task or project assigned by the direct supervisor related to the Engineer System Lead position and manufacturing needs.
- Responsibility for doing the ERP system set ups, routings, cycle times and item master maintenance
- Full understanding about the part identification such as JIT. MRP, configure part, purchase, or make part.
- Ability to create the MBOM from EBOM.
- Understanding about product configurator.
What we look for
- Bachelor's degree (preferably in supply chain management, industrial engineering, or operations management) with two (2) to four (4) years' experience in a manufacturing or manufacturing support (e.g., materials management, scheduling, continuous improvement, warehousing). In the absence of a 4-year degree in an appropriate field of study, this position requires an additional eight (8) years of related experience.
- APICS CPIM Certification preferred or expected to be obtained from individuals taking this role.
- Understanding of manufacturing operations, ERP /MRP and Windchill systems and the ability to effectively communicate and drive change in a manufacturing environment, across levels in the organization and extending to internal and external partners, is critical.
- Ability to understand and clarify business needs and develop processes that achieve business objectives is a must.
- Proficient knowledge of ERP/MRP and Windchill and Advance Planning Systems and Engineering areas is preferred.
- Experience helping design and document processes, including implementing supporting IT tools or any another system utilized on the manufacturing plant, is preferred.
- Experience in Materials Management / Engineering Department or Production Scheduling from manufacturing perspective preferred.
- Knowledge of and experience working with multiple operations also preferred.
