Purchasing Supervisor
The Purchasing Supervisor is a critical role within the Procurement department, reporting directly to the Production Manager. This position is responsible for planning, establishing, and managing the supply system at the production base in Mexico. The primary objective is to ensure the timely procurement of materials, evaluate suppliers, and establish efficient purchasing workflows. The Purchasing Supervisor will work closely with production and logistics teams to meet operational needs, maintain cost-effectiveness, and support the production of bearing cages and die casting components.
Key Responsibilities
- Supplier Management:
- Develop and evaluate suppliers for required materials, ensuring compliance with quality standards such as IATF 16949 and ISO 9001.
- Negotiate contracts and ensure supplier compliance with quality and delivery standards.
- Procurement Planning:
- Prepare material quotations and purchase orders based on production needs.
- Establish and optimize the procurement system to support production schedules.
- Workflow Establishment:
- Define and implement workflows related to purchasing activities.
- Ensure timely delivery of materials to support production schedules and avoid disruptions.
Work Collaboration Relationships
- Internal: Collaborate with the Production, Logistics, and Warehouse departments to ensure alignment on procurement and material needs.
- External: Work with suppliers, vendors, and third-party service providers to maintain strong relationships and ensure timely delivery of materials.
Qualifications
- Educational Background: A Bachelor's Degree or above in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field is required.
- Work Experience:
- At least 3+ years of experience in a similar role.
- 2+ years of experience in the automotive or manufacturing industry is preferred.
- Professional Certification: Certifications in procurement or supply chain management are preferred.
- Language: Fluency in Spanish and English is mandatory.
- Professional Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of procurement processes and supplier management.
- Familiarity with IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 standards is preferred.
- Skills:
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
- Personal Qualities: The ideal candidate should be proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively under pressure.
