Description

The Sr. Manager, Employee Relations is responsible for leading the employee relations function at a large-scale manufacturing facility. This role oversees a team of Employee Relations specialists and works closely with HR Business Partners, legal counsel, and site leadership to ensure compliance with labor laws, promote a positive work environment, and effectively manage complex employee relations issues. The position requires strategic leadership, expert knowledge of labor regulations, and strong coaching and conflict resolution skills.

In this role, you will lead and mentor a team of Employee Relations professionals, ensuring the effective execution of ER processes while fostering continuous development of team capabilities. You will develop and implement proactive employee relations strategies aligned with business priorities to minimize labor risks and cultivate a respectful workplace. Collaboration with senior site leadership and HR Business Partners is essential to address workplace issues, support performance management, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.

You will partner closely with legal teams and external counsel to handle employee claims, labor disputes, and ensure regulatory compliance. Acting as the primary liaison with labor authorities and government agencies, you will manage responses to inspections, audits, and legal proceedings effectively.

Analyzing employee relations data and trends to provide actionable insights will be key to driving continuous improvement in ER practices. Additionally, you will design, coordinate, and deliver training programs on topics such as labor law compliance, conflict resolution, performance counseling, and ethical conduct. Ensuring all ER activities comply with Mexican Federal Labor Law, Official Mexican Norms (NOMs), and internal policies is fundamental. Throughout all processes, you will promote and uphold the organization's core values of inclusion, respect, and integrity.

This position is based at a dynamic and fast-paced manufacturing site and may require occasional travel to other locations or meetings with external partners and regulatory bodies.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Law, Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field, with a Master's degree considered a plus. They should bring at least 10 years of progressive experience in Human Resources, including a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role focused on Employee Relations, preferably within a manufacturing or highly regulated environment.

The candidate must demonstrate proven success in leading and developing teams, managing complex employee relations issues, conducting thorough workplace investigations, and partnering effectively with legal counsel.

Fluency in both Spanish and English is required, along with excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. The ideal professional will be capable of influencing senior leadership, exercising discretion in sensitive situations, and applying strong analytical abilities to interpret data and develop effective solutions. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HR information systems is also expected.
