Position Summary:
Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Global IT Services, the IT Technician will play a key role in supporting hardware and software operations across both production and office environments. This position ensures that all end users are equipped with the necessary technical tools and support to perform their roles effectively. The technician will be responsible for receiving, prioritizing, and resolving technical issues, providing hands-on desktop support, and maintaining IT hardware and systems.
Responsibilities:
· Provide technical support for in-house computer systems, desktops, laptops, and peripheral devices.
· Install, diagnose, repair, maintain, and upgrade hardware and software as needed.
· Respond to help desk tickets: receive, log, prioritize, and resolve support requests in a timely manner.
· Offer on-site support to users in both office and production areas.
· Assist users with software-related issues and provide basic training where required.
· Track and manage IT inventory, ensuring equipment records are accurate and up to date.
· Create and maintain documentation for IT procedures and support guides.
· Collaborate with other IT staff to support the infrastructure and systems projects as needed.
Requirements:
- College diploma or AEC in Computer Science or related field,
- 2 years of relevant work experience.
- Proficient in Windows 10/11, Active Directory, and Mac OS environments.
- Strong experience supporting Microsoft Office Suite, Exchange, Adobe Creative Suite, SCCM, and Microsoft AutoPilot.
- Solid understanding of PC hardware, networking hardware (e.g., Cisco, Juniper), and troubleshooting techniques.
- Working knowledge of networking protocols and standards (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills in both English and French (oral and written).
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
