AMERICAN COMPANY REQUIRES ACCOUNTING ASSOCIATE WITH THE FOLLOWING PROFILE:
We are searching for a trustworthy, efficient, and organized a motivated accounting associate who should be an excellent multitasker with exceptional communication and time management skills.
The Accounting Associate is responsible for timely and accurate accounts payable and expense report processing, journal entries, general ledger account reconciliations, cash flow reporting, and other financial close duties. This position is highly visible and supports all employees, including members of management. The Accounting Associate contributes to various Accounting Department projects and initiatives.
PRIMARY OBJECTIVES
- Accuracy and timeliness in the payment of agents and vendors.
- Proper recording and reporting of financial data.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Supports the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process; pulls key reports and roll-forwards files; performs journal entries and general ledger account reconciliations.
- Processes, records, and reconciles accounts payable transactions.
- Ensures vendor payments and intercompany transactions are processed timely and accurately.
- Reconciles credit card statements to ensure timely, accurate, and appropriate classification within the financials.
- Provides effective and respectful employee expense reporting support.
- Reviews and posts data feeds (aka rearranges) from operational systems into the general ledger system.
- Distributes weekly cash flow updates; addresses positive pay exceptions within the bank's established time frame; clears checks and monitors outstanding checks.
- Performs the annual Form 1099 processing and Unclaimed Property reporting.
- Completes additional duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Language Advanced English (able to hold conversations fluently)
- Manages time effectively (Deadline focused).
- Dependable, accountable, ethical.
- Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to apply reasonableness and identify irregularities from expectations.
- Ability to solve practical, simple problems where standardization exists.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks accurately and efficiently.
- Perform analytical tasks and have a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently as well as part of a team.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or related.
Experience: Minimum of 1 to 3 years' experience in an accounting environment, preferably a property & casualty company, with strong problem-solving skills.
Languages: Advanced English (able to hold conversations fluently)
