What does a great Full Stack Java Developer do?

A great Full Stack Java Developer at Travelport is a Systems Engineer who can design, develop, and provide support for our suite of z/TPF development products using current generation technologies as well as DevOps and CI/CD methodologies. They are self-driven, passionate team players who are always striving towards excellence. Responsibilities include:

• Drive development effort End-to-End for on-time delivery of high-quality solutions that conform to requirements, conform to the architectural vision, and comply with all applicable standards.
• Work on full stack applications involving Angular JS, React JS as front end and Java as backend.
• Understands impact on adjacent systems and long-term impact of technical decisions.
• Ensures high quality design is delivered that meets specifications and improves performance.
• Produce efficient, structured, self-documented code based on requirements.
• Apply Test Driven Development, Behavior Driven Development principles as part of the development cycle.
• Write and run automated test scripts using test framework.
• Conduct code reviews for accuracy and functionality.
• Test, profile and deploy applications.
• Troubleshoot, debug, maintain and improve existing software.
• Identify ways to improve quality, velocity, processes, and teamwork.
• Demonstrates ability to keep things simple and apply lean product development principles.
• Participate in supporting the availability and stability of applications in production.
• Proactively work with the team to improve the CI/CD and automation capabilities.
• Contributes to establishment and enforcement of standards and best practices. Focused on efficient, high performance, high reliability/stability experience and architectural alignment of solution.

Who we are looking for in this role:

• 5+ years of Experience as a full stack Java Developer. Proficiency in Java/J2EE is a must.
• Strong Relational Database skills is a must (PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• Experience with DB Management tools (DB Visualizer, PgAdmin, Patroni)
• Experience with web service standards and related patterns (REST, JSON)
• Experience with web technologies and frameworks (React JS, Angular JS)
• Experience with Agile development incorporating Test Driven Development, Behavior Driven Development, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery, utilizing technologies such as GIT, Maven, Jenkins, Sonar, JUnit.
• Experience in building highly scalable architectures
• Various IDEs and tools: Visual Studio, Eclipse, NetBeans, Postman, SonarQube, Fortify Scans, Maven
• Excellent analytical skills and capable of solving complex technical problems independently.
• Has a growth mindset and willing to learn new technologies and take on different assignments.
• Proficient written and verbal communication skills. Able to communicate technical information in a clear and succinct manner.
• Shares knowledge with others and assists new team members.

Global Technology Services function is responsible for ensuring security, quality, scalability and resiliency of all production services; architecting, planning, building and operating of the platform, supporting IT infrastructure and Enterprise Corporate Services across Travelport worldwide.
