What does a great Senior Software Developer Engineer do?

• Applies advanced knowledge of development principles.
• Designs, develops, tests java-based application software.
• Proactively identifies opportunities to improve delivery of daily work.
• Champions needs of customer community and user experience enhancements.
• Acts as technical point of contact for a subset of larger project.
• Coaches/mentors others in application, platform, and/or global architectural standards.
• Actively engages in and readily adapts to software development engineering best practices.
• Enthusiastic participant in team-centric development practices.
• Provides tactical and technical support on tasks.
• Able to serve as both team member or team lead on different portions of work efforts.
• Shares knowledge with others and assists new team members.

Who we are looking for in this role:

• 5+ years Java Development / DevOps background.
• 5+ years of experience developing in an Agile team environment using iterative techniques. (Preferably SAFe)
• Informed team member who can exercise independent judgment within defined practices and procedures.
• Analyzing and Solving problems
• Maintaining and reading pre-existing code
• Experience developing, deploying or supporting commercial, customer facing solutions (either distributed or mainframe applications).
• Experience using XML processing technologies like JiBX, JAXB.
• Experience with test-driven development (JUnit, Mockito).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

About the Team

Global Technology Services function is responsible for ensuring security, quality, scalability and resiliency of all production services; architecting, planning, building and operating of the platform, supporting IT infrastructure and Enterprise Corporate Services across Travelport worldwide.
