What does a great Senior Software Developer Engineer do?

You will be a Developer working on the latest web technologies following Coding and DevOps best practices. This involves coding, maintenance and integration of UI web components, with an understanding of cloud services

You will be an innovator, passionate, accountable and solutions focused, not to mention adaptable, hungry for a challenge and an individual who thrives on partnering. All of these combined with the below capabilities are what will make us such a bold and compelling organization.

Responsibilities include:

• Design, develop, integrate and deliver new and existing creative and responsive client-side web components using Javascript, HTML and CSS via common UI Frameworks, with an emphasis towards Angular (and/or React) to support our responsive applications front end
• Design, develop, maintain, integrate and deliver Javascript cloud services in an agile, test driven development environment in a Cloud based - Microservices architected application
• Perform frequent code reviews amongst the team
• Write and run automated test scripts using test framework
• Participate in release activities and deployments
• Maintenance of web components and services
• Apply BDD and TDD principles as part of the development cycle
• Collaborate on features sizing, story refinement and planning
• Participate in release activities and deployments
• Proactively work with the team to improve the CI/CD and automation capabilities
• Contribute to establishment and enforcement of standards and best practices. Focused on efficient, high performance, high reliability/stability experience and architectural alignment of solution.
• Come up with small improvements or big new ideas, bringing the best solutions to life.

Who we are looking for in this role:

• Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a Computer Science, Engineering, math, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience:
  • 6+ year's proven experience in Web Front-end software development, using:
    • Javascript (ECMA6), design patterns and concepts such as scope, closures and prototypal inheritance
    • HTML5/CSS
    • Angular or React Redux, NodeJS
    • Javascript Testing libraries and integration test frameworks
  • Experience with UX/UI prototyping tools
  • Experience in Gitflow process in terms of branching, Pull Request, Code/Peer reviews
  • Knowledge of software design best practices (SOLID, Patterns and antipatterns)
  • Proven experience using TDD on a daily basis
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and practices (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, DevOps) and DevOps culture/practices
  • Knowledge of Jira is a plus
  • Experience of Jira for Req/ Story management and work management tools is a plus
  • Experience in the Travel industry is a huge plus

Global Technology Services function is responsible for ensuring security, quality, scalability and resiliency of all production services; architecting, planning, building and operating of the platform, supporting IT infrastructure and Enterprise Corporate Services across Travelport worldwide.
