Position Summary: The Software Technical Project Lead is responsible technically and commercially for a SW project (conventional transmission, e-drive) and has a strong Software background
Position Responsibilities:
• Responsible technically and commercially for a SW project (conventional transmission, e-drive)
• Responsible for the SW project in front of the customer (Content, technology, quality and costs)
• Main contact for the customer (escalation, deadlines, content, quotations, etc.)
• Responsible for planning the necessary resources with the technical departments
• Responsible for the initial effort estimation
• Functional leadership of the SW development team
• Coordination of SW topics with the overall project (embedding of SW activities in the corresponding product development)
• Updating and submitting status reports based on KPIs, to line and project, possibly also to customer
• Responsible for the gate report of the SW subcomponent
• Creation and maintenance of the project risk analysis
• Managing internal escalations
• Responsible for the approval of the SW sub-component
• Responsible for compliance with Automotive Spice
Essential Skills and Experience:
• B.S. in Engineering (Electrical) or Computer Science
• 5+ years' experience in the Automotive and/or Electronics industries, including project experience
• Experience in automotive software projects
• Knowledge of automotive SPICE and IATF 16949
• Detailed knowledge of project management
• Knowledge of the software engineering development cycle (requirements analysis, design & validation, etc.)
• Knowledge of the review methods, experience in performing reviews
• Good moderation and communication skills as well as the ability to work in a team
• Ability to interface with cross-functional teams and all levels of management
• Self-starter with strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Excellent project planning and organizational abilities
• Able to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities
• Superior interpersonal and communication skills to mediate among different projects on critical decisions
• Strong drive for teamwork with a customer-oriented mindset
• English language competency - both oral and written
• Experience with Microsoft® Word and Excel, PowerPoint
• Ability/willingness to travel (infrequently)
Preferred Skills and experience:
• M.S. Degree in Engineering (Electrical) or Computer Science
• Technical Product expertise of conventional, electrified, and electric drivelines / powertrains
• Several years of professional experience in automotive development in the field of control unit software
• Proven ability to work independently and lead engineering staff, professionals, and management with decisiveness and diplomacy
• Attested knowledge and ability in methods of communication, motivation, negotiation, and conflict management skills with a high level of initiative/drive
• Experience in leading a product to mass manufacturing
• Basic knowledge of functional safety (ISO 26262, IEC 61508)
• German and/or Spanish language skills
• Knowledge of DOORS, Clear Case/Clear Quest, MKS, GIT or PTC Integrity
• Proof of IATF 16949 and Automotive Spice awareness training
