Position Overview

As a Senior Front End Developer, you will play a key role in shaping the user experience of our data platform. You'll lead the development of reusable, efficient, and scalable front end components using Svelte, collaborating closely with designers and backend engineers. Your work will directly support critical healthcare research by making complex data workflows intuitive and accessible.

This role emphasizes design-system thinking, reusability, and speed of development, underpinned by test-driven development (TDD) practices and a strong culture of collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development of scalable, reusable components using Svelte.
• Work closely with designers to translate UX/UI concepts into high-quality interfaces.
• Apply thoughtful constraints and patterns to streamline the development process and ensure consistency across the app.
• Write comprehensive end-to-end (E2E) tests and promote a test-driven culture across the team.
• Collaborate with backend developers to integrate with robust data services and APIs.
• Contribute to frontend architecture decisions and improve performance and reliability.
• Actively participate in code reviews, documentation, and technical discussions.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with Svelte and proven success building modern web applications with it (mandatory).
• Solid background in building and maintaining design systems or reusable component libraries.
• Deep understanding of modern front end development, state management, and component-driven architecture.
• Experience with end-to-end testing tools (e.g., Playwright, Cypress) and commitment to test-driven development.
• Demonstrated ability to apply constraints and conventions that accelerate team velocity.
• Excellent collaboration skills and comfort working cross-functionally with designers and backend developers.
• Passion for crafting clean, maintainable code and continuously improving developer experience.

Bonus Points

• Experience in the healthcare domain or with data-centric platforms.
• Familiarity with accessibility (a11y) best practices.
• Understanding of data visualization tools or libraries.
